Board Members

President, Tatiana Ridley (president@proctorpta.net)

Tatiana was born in Moscow, Russia and immigrated to the United States as a high school student. She went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and earned her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.  Tatiana and her family have lived in Castro Valley for nearly a decade. Tatiana and her husband, Iain, have two daughters, both proud Proctor Patriots, a Newfoundland dog and a cat named Chicken. In her free time, Tatiana can be spotted jogging around Castro Valley. She also loves traveling and spending time with her family.  

Executive Vice President, Ashley Reintges  (vicepresident@proctorpta.net)

Ashley grew up in Oakland, CA. She graduated from San Francisco State University and received her B.A. in Criminal Justice. She currently works as a paralegal for the County of Alameda. Ashley has been married to her husband for nearly 15 years and together they live in Castro Valley where they raise their 5 children and Yorkshire terrier, Jefferson Harrison. This year she will have four of her five children attending Proctor!!! In her scant spare time, she loves reading novels by Lauren Weisberger, Emily Giffin, and John Grisham.  

VP of Programs, Catherine McCarthy (programs@proctorpta.net)

Catherine grew up in Eureka, CA and graduated from Humboldt State University. She moved to the Bay Area in 2003 after serving in the Peace Corps. Catherine has a background in finance and worked as a buy-side equity stock analyst for over +15 years. She has three children and two of them currently attend Proctor (the oldest graduated last year and is now at Creekside). Catherine served as the auditor for the Proctor PTA last year. She currently leads the Origami and Bulletin Board Club at Proctor and serves as the treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 722. 

VP of Fundraising, Sarah Murphy  (fundraising@proctorpta.net)

Sarah was born right here in Castro Valley at Eden Hospital! Her family moved to Danville when she was two, and that’s where she grew up. Sarah graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a BS in Liberal Studies and two teaching credentials. She taught middle school math and elementary school for eleven years before deciding to stay home with her own kids. Her two sons attend Proctor (2nd grade and Kindergarten) and her daughter is 2. Sarah is excited to join the PTA as a Parent (instead of a teacher). In her spare time, she enjoys paper crafting, baking, reading, camping, and traveling.


VP of Communications & Technology, Gabriela Sanchez( technology@proctorpta.net )

Gabby grew up in Los Angeles, California and moved to the Bay Area for school.  She has lived in Castro Valley for the last 17 years with her husband. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor’s degree in SociologyGabby works full time with Kaiser Permanente.  She has twin daughters who are in 2nd grade at Proctor Elementary.  She loves to spend her free time with her family and enjoys traveling.  She enjoys volunteering and helping out.  

Parliamentarian, Rosa Leither (parliamentarian@proctorpta.net)  

Rosa Leither grew up mostly in Montana before moving to California for college. She is a writer, journalist, and musician. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Cal Poly, SLO and her master’s degree in Creative Writing from St. Mary’s College of California. She has two enthusiastic children at Proctor, Itasca and River, (3rd and 1st grades). First an art/music volunteer for Proctor’s PAC program and then a library volunteer, she is happy to support the PTA in the role of Parliamentarian this year.

Treasurer, Hollie Pope (treasurer@proctorpta.net)

Hollie was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and spent her childhood living all around the United States before ending up in the Bay Area.  She studied mechanical engineering at Stanford University and worked at medical device startups until she changed gears to stay home with her children.  She has two students at Proctor and one at Vannoy.  She enjoys coaching youth sports, getting in way over her head on projects around the house, and playing guitar. 

Secretary, Janel Coughran (secretary@proctorpta.net)

Janel Coughran grew up in the Seattle area, graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Comparative Sociology, and then moved to California where she met her husband.  She taught high school American Sign Language until her first son was born, when she quit to stay at home with him.  The family moved to London for nearly three years and came back in 2021 when her oldest started kindergarten at Proctor.  He is now in 3rd grade and the youngest is 4.  Anytime her hands are free, Janel is knitting or learning to sew and crochet.  Her dream is to open a yarn shop and teach others to craft.

Financial Secretary, Dusty Seu (finance@proctorpta.net)

Dusty grew up in northern Minnesota before moving to the Bay Area. After working in Enterprise software, she took a break to focus on raising her children.  She has two kids at Proctor and one at Vannoy.  In her free time, she enjoys photography and beekeeping. She also shares her home with a variety of pets. 

Proctor Principal, Jeff Keller (jkeller@cv.k12.ca.us)

Jeff Keller is beginning his first year as Principal at Proctor Elementary School. Jeff grew up in Livermore, but has lived and taught in Germany, Honduras, and Guatemala. He was a teacher for ten years (mostly in grades 3-5), an elementary principal for eleven years, and a district director for six years. As a district director Jeff supervised and coached principals, trained administrators and teachers in how to effectively collaborate, and planned district-wide implementation of AVID and Professional Learning Communities. Jeff is married and has five children. His wife and eldest daughter are both teachers, and four of his five children have gone through Dual Language Immersion programs.

Teacher Representative, Lori Winfrey

Lori Winfrey has been a teacher in CVUSD since 1990. She spent her first 14 years teaching at Stanton Elementary and the last 20 years teaching at Proctor Elementary. Lori was raised on a farm in Salinas, the daughter of a flower grower and wholesaler. Lori has taught K to second grade but her love is first grade. She likes being the teacher Rep because the Proctor PTA is filled with amazing people who work hard to help make Proctor more than just a school. The PTA adds safety, fun and it supplements materials and programs that enhance the learning of all students.

Michelle grew up in the Bay Area and is the mother of a Proctor first grader. She was formerly an elementary school teacher after graduating from UCLA and receiving her MA and credential from SJSU. She is now the primary caregiver of her three children. Her hopes for this year is to be actively involved and to help build a bridge between teachers and families in order to have a thriving community. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, traveling, crafting, and baking.

Hospitality, Alessandro Beghini (hospitality@proctorpta.net)

Alessandro grew up in the Italian countryside where his high standards for good cuisine were born. After completing his undergraduate studies in Milan, he pursued a graduate degree in Tokyo where he spent three years developing a taste for something new. He came to the US in pursuit of a PhD and explored the fine foods of Chicago (like deep dish pizza), where he met his wife - a fellow engineer. In 2013, they moved to the Bay Area and started a family (twin daughters – now proud 2nd graders at Proctor).  Alessandro spends his days engineering skyscrapers, bridges, and artwork, but you can regularly find him (literally) running around town, spending time with his family, traveling the globe, and cooking, of course. 

Lead Room Representative, Tammy Lam (leadroomrep@proctorpta.net)

Tammy was born in Oakland, California and spent most of her childhood moving between the Bay Area and Hong Kong before she ended up in Castro Valley and attended CVHS.  She graduated from Cal State Hayward (now CSUEB) and received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Advertising.  She has two children attending Proctor Elementary.  She loves crafting anything, baking, cooking and getting out of escape rooms!

Safe Routes to School, Lauren Beghini 

Originally a Chicago native, Lauren came to the Bay Area in 2013 in pursuit of warmer weather. During the day, she uses her PhD in Civil Engineering for various research applications at the national labs, but outside her day job, she is the proud parent of 1st grade twin girls. She and her family can regularly be found enjoying various outdoor activities, including their daily walks to and from school. She hopes to continue to advocate for safe routes for everyone to commute around town and make Proctor a more pedestrian friendly area.
